Around 166,000 people, more than half of Vanuatu’s population, have been affected by Tropical Cyclone Pam on 22 islands. 75,000 people are in need of shelter. 110,000 people are without access to safe drinking water.

Vanuatu is close to our hearts. Many Australian golfers travel to Vanuatu each year to compete in the Vanuatu Golf Open which is a pro am event on the Australian PGA pro am circuit. The locals of Mele Village ensure we are well looked after each year and provide their support as caddies and spectators. Although these people already have few possessions and small incomes they provide gifts of dresses and shirts to the golfers each year as a sign of welcoming into their culture and their home.

It is now our turn to show our support and gratitude by helping them first obtain essential services such as food and drinking water and then to help rebuild their lives over the medium to long term.

We are holding a charity golf day with all proceeds to go to the Cyclone Pam Appeal.
